Ahok Meets Bareskrim Summons Related to UPS Case

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) will meet the summons from the Corruption Directorate of National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim), Wednesday (7/29) morning. It is linked to corruption cases through procurement of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) which dragged some unscrupulous officials under Jakarta Provincial Jakarta Government.

Currently, Ahok is holding a meeting with Chief of Jakarta City Police, Tito Karnavian related with the implementation of 5 rules in Jakarta. After that, he would immediately go to National Police Headquarters. "I will go to the Bareskrim at 10.00 AM," he told, Wednesday (7/29).

He claimed that he had provided necessary data to the police for questioning. Even, he have memorized all the information about the alleged corruption of UPS case. "I've memorized all. This is just for a police investigation report (BAP), considering the case would be brought to the trial," he expressed.

Citizens Support Ahok Revealing Corruption

He also received the summons on Tuesday (7/28) via Whatsapp from a high-ranking police officer. As for the Bareskrim investigator is investigating the UPS corruption in 2014 Revised City Budget (APBD-P), where two suspects were named, namely Alex Usman and Zaenal Soleman.

Alex suspected did corruption when he served as an official of Commitments Makers (PPK) over UPS procurement of West Jakarta Secondary Education Sub-Department. While for Zaenal, suspected did corruption when he served as an official of Commitments Makers Officers over UPS procurement of Central Jakarta Secondary Education Sub-Department. 

They are subjected to Article 2 and 3 of Law No. 20/2001 on Corruption Eradication in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph(1) of the Criminal Code (KUHP).
